The sacrifices devoted students make for a quality education; I decided to take a “minimester” with my precious summer time because I wanted to have a specific professor. Media and Society, a requirement for my film degree, explores the “roles of the media in society and their relationship with other societal institutions - impacts of the media upon society, responsibilities of the media, and restraints imposed on them.”
Yesterday in class we spoke with Joel Korpi via conference call. Joel is a young entrepreneur who single-handedly founded Rockify, a channel an “ever-changing channel of music videos, live shows, and rocking content.” He is also the son of one of my former professors Dr. Michael Korpi.
You should check out Rockify - they’re doing big things.

The Year of the Bear
This is the best video I have ever seen. It makes me even more proud to go to Baylor. I don’t know who made the video, but they did an amazing job. The music, the editing and graphics. I love how they started with all the negative things that reporters and sports analysts have said over the past year and all the talk from A&M leaving the conference. Then clips from this football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball season. The reason for this video was because Baylor just made the record for most wins and least losses in the big 4 sports in the NCAA. And baseball season isn’t even over. AND that doesn’t include the equestrian, tennis, soccer and golf team, that ALL had winning seasons.AND on top of Baylor have the best season in its HISTORY, the Big 12 is still in tact and stronger than ever with the addition of TCU and West Virginia U.
Oh, and I love that they incorporated the song The David Crowder band wrote for Baylor, Rise Up!
